AI receipt booking
A posted receipt appears as an expense in the journal, offsetting account accounts payable 2000. Its input tax per VAT rate flows into the VAT return.
Learn moreAccounting is the module in Saldora that brings together chart of accounts, journal, VAT return and year-end closing. Saldora comes with the Swiss SME chart of accounts; invoices, receipts and bank payments land on the right account automatically. Saldora compiles the VAT return from your entries, and the income statement and balance sheet are available live at any time.

Four stations: set up the chart of accounts, assign accounts automatically, prepare the VAT return and close the financial year.
Saldora shows the Swiss SME chart of accounts with all accounts. The templates “Simple”, “Agency / services” and “Extended (large SMEs)” only add missing standard accounts; existing accounts and entries remain unchanged. You create your own accounts with number, name and account type, and export and import the entire chart as CSV.
Invoices, receipts, bank payments and stock movements are posted where they originate. In the journal they appear separated into categories such as “Receivables”, “Payables” and “Payments”. For corrections and accruals you record a manual entry; Saldora splits an amount including VAT into net and tax.
For expense accounts, the input tax box determines where the input tax appears in the return. Saldora compiles the VAT return from your entries using the effective method, net tax rate or flat tax rate and shows it in the layout of the FTA form. It is exported as XML per eCH-0217 and as a PDF for your fiduciary.
Income statement and balance sheet are calculated live from your entries, with a comparison to the previous year. Before the year-end closing, Saldora checks whether all periods are closed and every entry balances. It then carries the balance sheet accounts, including the annual result, forward into the new financial year as an opening entry.
Four things that keep your figures traceable.
Posted entries can be neither changed nor deleted. A reversal creates an offsetting entry, the original entry gets the status “Reversed”, and both remain visible.
The journal filters by date, account, amount and VAT rate – across all entries, not just the page shown. “CSV” exports the filtered list, and the general ledger shows every account as an account ledger.
If the VAT of a reversed entry falls in a submitted period, you choose between “Transaction cancelled” and “Posting error”. If a submitted period changes, “Update return” creates a correction return.
The logs list every accounting-relevant action. Under “Nightly check” you see the findings of the nightly check of your accounting.

No. Saldora prepares the return and exports it as XML per eCH-0217, checked against the official schema beforehand. You upload this file in the FTA portal’s VAT return service. “Mark as submitted” only records the status in Saldora.
No. Posted entries can be neither changed nor deleted. You reverse a manual entry with a reason; this creates an offsetting entry, and both remain visible in the journal. Entries from invoices, receipts and bank reconciliation are corrected where they originated.
With a manual entry: on the expense line, select the input tax code and enter the amount including VAT. Saldora posts the net amount to the expense account and the VAT to account 1170 (input tax).
Under “Year-end closing”. Saldora first checks whether all periods are closed, the year is covered without gaps, every entry balances and an account for the annual result is set. It then closes the income statement accounts and carries the balance sheet accounts forward into the new year. Agree on the procedure with your fiduciary beforehand.
No. Saldora does not provide tax advice. It keeps the books and prepares the VAT return and the closing; the return is also available as a PDF for your fiduciary. When in doubt, clarify input tax boxes, changes of method and the closing with them.
